seems we have let us down
even knowing we're so unsure
do we have the heart to carry on
burn it out of our mind,
we know -
there are flames that never fade
jungle red's a deadly shade
both ends burning
will the fires keep
somewhere deep in our soul
both ends burning
burning
now our course is plain as day
run so boldly out to play
both ends burning
with a strange desire
feeding the fire in our soul
we could dance the night away
living only for today
both ends burning
while the world is counting sheep
hell-
who can sleep through all this heat
tell us will we ever learn
far too late, the rush is on
both ends burning
and we can't control
the fire that's raging in our soul
when will it never end
put our foot square in our mouth
drive us swiftly to an early grave
tell us what is there to save
both ends burning
