 Seems we've sung this song,
   a thousand times or more.
And ends with us wondering,
   why'd we open up our door.
So we rebuild the wall -
Keep it all -
To our self -

Always seems we see
   or read too much.
And reaching out,
   becomes a lepers touch.
Bound in mental chains -
The sad remains -
A stupid victim of -
wanting to be loved

She's just the devil,
   in an angels disguise.
Her thoughts hide behind,
   the greenest of green eyes.
So we turn the page -
Lock our hearts cage -
Try not to be the victim of -
wanting to be loved.

Now we know that,
   Disney endings are a lie.
And Mister Sparks,
   will always make us cry.
So slam shut the cage -
And release the rage -
Just another victim of -
wanting love.

Another lonely night this evening,

   just another broken almost start.
Our dark thoughts laugh at us in silence,
   point out the ruined castle 'round our heart.

See the distance away from happy,
   but no more tears in our eyes so grey.
We wear our pain like a badge of  honor,
   solo for life is the debt we pay.

So We’ll Just Hide Our Flame -
Won't Dance To Life's Game -
We’ll Safeguard Our Flame -
We Had Nothing To Lose -

And Nothing’s What We Gained.

 The voice inside had whispered a warning,
    telling us just don’t go there.
Don’t be fooled by her encouragement,

   ‘cos like the rest she won’t really care.

We wait for silence in our room,
   mourning the dream that’s so dead.
All of the courage it took just to open up,
   turns to mocking laughter in our head.

So We’ll Just Hide Our Flame -
Won't Dance To Life's Game -
We’ll Safeguard Our Flame -
We Had Nothing To Lose -
And Nothing’s What We Gained.

The words she spoke seem nothing but lies,
   another scar’s what we gain.
We knew better then to even try,

   so why we did we just can’t explain.

We should have listened to our hearts warning,
   and just run the other way.
We knew we’d just end up mourning,
   this cost us more than the price pay.

Whose trembling hands are these?
And what is this empty place?
We were happily lost,
   till we saw your face.
Here stands our empty house.
It once was so full of life.
Now it's home to a no one,
   who can have no wife.
It's just a hovel and –

Who- will have us now?
We- can't face another day
And who- will shelter us?
It's cold in here -
Cover us.

Under these fingertips,
We long for your body's rolls and dips.
We close our eyes,
   and you're here with us.
And as the day descends,
We'll shout from our window
To anyone listening.

In a plague of self hate questioning.
Tap dancing voices shouting ear to ear.
