Demonized & Angelized

   - Demonized & Angelized -

What she doesn’t say,
along the way won’t hurt us -
if we want to just move along in fear.
We tell our self not to believe,
what we think that we see -
and absolutely nothing that we hear.

Resist the thoughts she creates,
no matter what the personal cost -
and see all the wrongs inside our head.
Acknowledging the questions,
that have no fucking answers -
like the one that has turned our heart dead.

The legends say,
what we don’t know won’t kill us -
And yet we let her words build us a cage.
Our heart will sometimes go into a panic,
and our head will thrive on chaos -
it all falls down into a senseless pool of rage.

She’ll push us away,
and then try to pull us back in -
it all feels like a cancer at its root.
She’s demonized,
and angelized in our eyes -
the difference from inside our mind is moot.

Not To Drown

            - Not To Drown -

His fake smile is a complete sham -
when he feels, he feels the fool,
he has stopped trying to understand.
All looks well from the outside
but deep inside, he hides the truth,
regrets letting his heart get out of hand.
True love comes and then it goes -
And somehow, he still seems sane -
Lays the “golden path” to rest -
Tries not to drown.
Thinks it might just be for the best -
If he beats his heart to death -
Puts real feelings under arrest -
And tries not to drown.

He feels alone in a crowded room.
Tries to ignore all the feelings of doom.
His whole persona is just a disguise.
The joy he fakes never makes it to his eyes.
Masquerades that he is stable.
His thoughts bounce like balls on a pool table.

Thought he had so much to give -
then he found out, it wasn’t good enough,
wonders now where he should go.
Nothing now to have or hold -
   feels alone, but not lonely,
and he’ll never let it show.
