     - TRY TO BREATHE -

we try to breathe
 the memories bury us.
we try to face them but
 the pain is just too great to believe.
we know that only we can change
 everyone else will stay the same.
so we must step out of the darkness
 that our life became 'cause
we just needed some closure from you
 you were just to busy with yourself.
you were never there for us
 to explain the truth.
We just stuffed it down
 now we're moving on and wish.
we could let some of this anger fade
 but it seems the itch we are scratching.
Is the bed that "we" have made

so where were you?
 when alone we had to fight through.
you never took the time
 to ask us just what you could do.
