The World Didn't Stop . . .
The World Didn't Stop . . .
There were no angry words at all,
As “we” stood there hugging in the hall,
And then you put your one box in your car.
There was nothing that we could say,
One last goodbye and you drove away,
We watched your tail-lights as they faded in the dark.
We stared at the ceiling in our lonely bed -
And fought so hard to get out of our head . . .
Last night the moon and stars fell from our sky.
And tears welled up in our silver eyes,
So sure our life was complete with you.
But now the sun is blinding us,
As it chases away the dark.
Looks like the world didn't stop . . .
Cos you broke our heart.
Seconds tick by, life goes on,
The radio only wants to play love songs,
And we try to hold our scattered heart in place.
Now it takes all the power we've got,
To remember to program our coffee pot,
The first of many lonely mornings we now have to face.
If you had called to see if we’re ok -
We’d have to take a pause before we could say . . .
Last night the moon and stars fell from our sky.
And tears welled up in our silver eyes,
So sure our life was complete with you.
But now the sun is blinding us,
As it chases away the dark.
Looks like the world didn't stop . . .
Cos you broke our heart.
looks like the world didn't stop . . .
cos you broke our heart.
