THE POUNDING FEVER II

We feel the pounding fever,
   it’s in our head we know.
As we try to clear out
   it’s betraying tone.
When it’s all gone wrong,
   it’s hard to believe in love.
IT CAN'T RAIN FOREVER
THE PAIN WILL PASS WITH TIME.
THE HURT WON’T HURT FOREVER.
THOUGH IT SEEMS A LIE.
THE TEARS KEEP US TOGETHER.

We fight “the pain” daily,
   shaken to our very core.
And we wonder if,
   we will ever have more?
Or is this all there is?
Just the pounding fever -
   it’s all in our head we know.
As our heart closes,
   and her coldness shows.
Then it all goes wrong,
   it’s so hard to believe in love.

We wander the streets lost,
   and wonder where to go.
As we’ve tried to find us,
   we’ve come to know.
That the pounding fever,
   and the heart stays closed.
How could we believe in love,
   when it’s always gone wrong.
